Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been promised a key role in helping shape Manchester United’s future.
And that could well include helping an influx of players during the January transfer window.
The interim boss has been assured by Red Devils’ chief Ed Woodward that he will have a say on any transfers.
And United are said to be looking to strengthen in a number of areas after five straight wins in a row.
Woodward has had a shortlist drawn up for a while – and if targets become available at the right price hi will pounce.
But who could be coming to Old Trafford over the next three weeks?
Here’s what’s caught our eye…
Man United finally set to land Ivan Perisic in cut price deal
Liverpool transfer gossip: Jurgen Klopp to battle for highly-rated French star
Croatian midfielder Ivan Perisic could finally end his long-running transfer saga and sign for Manchester United.
The 29-year-old was a long-standing target of former boss Jose Mourinho. However Woodward believed the asking price was high for a player of his age.
But now Inter Milan seem keener to sell as they look to fund a bid for Real Madrid’s Luka Modric.
He only penned a new deal at the San Siro last summer, but according to Tuttosport via Calciomercato, the Nerazzurri may look to sell him as they bid for his compatriot.
Inter did want nearly £50m for the creative attacking midfielder.
However that may will drop to around £30m as they look to cash in.
Man Utd ‘make £30m bid for Chelsea target Barella
Manchester United have reportedly made a £30million take it or leave it bid for in-demand midfielder Nicolo Barella.
That’s according to a report from Italy, which claims that the Red Devils could beat Chelsea to the punch for the highly-rated Cagliari man.
Maurizio Sarri’s Blues are current favourites to land the 21-year-old, who is attracting some serious attention from a number of top clubs in Europe.
Chelsea are ready to part with a reported £45million transfer fee to get their man, as Callum Hudson-Odoi’s apparently imminent move to Bayern Munich looks to free up funds for the Blues boss in south-west London.
But according to Corriere Dello Sport, Chelsea aren’t the only Premier League side ready to part with some serious cash to land the midfielder.
Manchester United are also allegedly keen on signing him, and have even reacted the quicker of the two sides, but will offer some £15million less in a bid to snare Barella.
Man Utd ‘to offer Pereira to snare Fiorentina’s Milenkovic’
Reports in Italy claim United will use Pereira as a makeweight in a deal to tempt Fiorentina to part with Milenkovic.
United are long-term admirers of the Serbian, and are prepared to let Pereira go in order to land their target.
Milenkovic , 21, has 10 caps for Serbia on top of his 79 senior appearances at club level for Partizan Belgrade and Fiorentina.
And La Nazione (via Calciomercato), say Pereira could be used to lure Milenkovic to Old Trafford as United continue their search for a centre-back.
